The sessions take place at our beginner-friendly virgin homespot Furadouro, wild beaches of Maceda, mellow golden waves of Cortegaça, funny beach breaks of Esmoriz or the famous long right handers of Espinho. Golden Waves offers a holistic surf experience. Nestled between endless beaches, the Nature Park of Maceda Pine Forest and the preserved Lagoon Ria de Aveiro, we are embraced by Nature and Ocean.
Surf Instructors
Our instructors are experienced locals and very talented surfers with certificates from the Portuguese Surf Federation. They know the best spots and love to share their stoke with you. Sergio is the founder of the Golden Waves Surf Lodge and your host during your holidays. He turned his vision into reality with this project, combining surf and yoga lifestyle with sustainable tourism and creativity. As he grew up in Porto and by the coast, Sergio knows and loves the Ocean, culture and environment inside out. As a very talented surfer and world traveler, he is constantly on the search for challenging waves and endless barrels
Ricardo will be your reliable buddy in the water while you are catching your first waves. As a passionate surfer since 25 years and professional surf instructor, certified by the Portuguese Federation of Surf, he is very experienced in the Atlantic waves and many more surf breaks around the world. Known for his powerful style in surfing, his goal is to share this precious Ocean knowledge with you and to help you on your journey of surf while sharing some of his life wisdom
Dani has a special appetite for big waves, so you will be in best hands and feel the safety he transmits. Apart from being a brave surfer, he says ``surfing is a sport that should be practiced and shared with joy and enthusiasm``, and this is excactly what you experience when learning with him
Surf Conditions
Portugal is blessed with all year round surfing, pleasant water temperatures and 300 days of sunshine a year. Surf for every level, from perfect peelers to powerful tubes. The Lodge is perfect for surfers because it is just a short walk to the spot Praia da Furadouro and a great base for exploring excellent spots around. Within a stretch of 15 km coastline, you will find more than 25 waves to be ridden. Depending on the swell and wind directions, there is always an option.
Even the National Competitions take place at our blue flag beaches.
Surf Sessions
Our instructors provide safety, individual learning progress and fun. We don’t stop the time to end the sessions and always take you to the best working surf spots. Only the best material guaranteed to ensure maximum pleasure.
As a special service after the surf, the team will take care of cleaning and drying the equipment. Return from your session and relax right away. Enjoy the comfort of the Lodge and its unique service concept while focus on your surf experience.
